Terms of Service

Welcome to Remoto (remoto.fyi). These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and Remoto, governing your access to and use of our platform, search index, Telegram bots, automated email alert pipelines, and subscription features.
01. The Service & Role Disclaimer
Automated Search & Indexing: Remoto is an automated job discovery engine that indexes publicly available developer opportunities across external Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and remote career boards.
No Employment Agency or Brokerage: Remoto is not an employment agency, headhunter, staffing firm, recruiter, or employer. We do not participate in, control, or broker hiring decisions, interviews, background checks, wage negotiations, or employment contracts.
Third-Party ATS Redirects: Applying for an indexed job opportunity redirects you off Remoto directly to third-party hiring systems (e.g. Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday). Remoto makes no guarantee regarding the safety or policies of external sites. Users are solely responsible for conducting due diligence prior to sharing CVs or personal information.
02. User Accounts & Security
To access personalized digests, custom filters, or premium features, you may register using Google Authentication. You agree to provide accurate, current information and maintain the confidentiality of your account.
You must be at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account and purchase paid services. Notify us immediately at support@remoto.fyi upon discovering any unauthorized account activity.
03. Notification Services (Email & Telegram)
Users may opt in to receive real-time, daily, or weekly job alerts through automated email dispatch or our dedicated Telegram bot.
Best-Effort Delivery: Notification services operate on a best-effort basis without real-time latency SLAs. Network congestion, spam filters, or Telegram API throttles may delay alert delivery. Remoto assumes no liability for missed deadlines or expired vacancies resulting from dispatch delays.
04. Subscriptions, Payments, Free Trials & Refunds
Certain features, such as Remoto Premium and Market/Personalized Insights, require a paid recurring subscription.
EU Statutory 14-Day Right of Withdrawal Waiver: Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU, consumers ordinarily hold a 14-day statutory right to withdraw from digital distance purchases. By subscribing to Remoto Premium and receiving immediate digital platform access, you acknowledge that your statutory right of withdrawal ends upon the delivery of immediate access, without prejudice to our voluntary 7-day money-back guarantee.
05. Intellectual Property & Nominative Fair Use
All original software code, UI designs, graphics, branding, and search schemas are the exclusive property of Remoto.
Third-party company names, trademarks, logos, and job descriptions displayed on Remoto remain the exclusive property of their respective owners. Remoto uses these marks strictly under nominative fair use to identify open positions and hiring organizations. Display does not imply endorsement or corporate affiliation.
Company representatives wishing to update or remove an indexed listing or trademark may email support@remoto.fyi for prompt takedown processing.
06. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to:
- Scrape, harvest, extract, or bulk-download data or candidate listings from Remoto using automated systems (bots, spiders, headless scrapers) without express written permission.
- Bypass rate-limiting defenses, robot exclusion headers, tarpits, or authentication barriers.
- Inject malware, malicious payloads, or flood network infrastructure.
- Resell, lease, or sub-license access to Remoto Premium data feeds to third parties.
07. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
REMOTO DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, NOR THAT USING THE SERVICE WILL RESULT IN INTERVIEWS, EMPLOYMENT OFFERS, OR JOB PLACEMENT.
08. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Remoto and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, employment opportunities, or business interruption).
Total aggregate liability for all claims shall be strictly capped at the greater of (a) the amount paid by you to Remoto in the preceding 3 months, or (b) €50.00 EUR.
09. Modifications & Termination
We reserve the right to revise or discontinue features of the platform at any time. Material updates to these Terms will be posted with an updated revision date. Continued usage following published revisions indicates acceptance.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any dispute arising in connection with them shall be governed exclusively by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflicts of law principles.
Any legal proceeding shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Porto, Portugal. In case of consumer dispute, EU consumers may consult the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net) at eccnet.eu or the Portuguese Consumer Arbitration Centre (CNIACC) at cniacc.pt .
